The Year 3 and 4 children presented a concert to parents, friends and the community to celebrate music through the decades of Queen Elizabeth II ‘s reign.

We held a Jubilee themed afternoon tea party to thank people in our community for their support and their contribution to life in our school. We also took this opportunity to unveil a wonderful wall hanging created by our children and the community.

The Jubilee House Bake-Off was a great success. Year 1 and 2 children in each house designed the cake, Year 3 and 4 children baked the cake and Year 5 and 6 children decorated the cake. They were judged by our governors who chose our winners.

Cllr. Mrs. Marlene Chapman joined us in our Friday Collective Worship to announce to the children that every child at Welton. St. Mary’s CE Primary Academy would receive a commemorative mug in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee. This will be something for the children to treasure and to remind them of this special event; just as the cup and saucer does that Cllr Chapman received  when she was a pupil at Welton St. Mary’s in celebration of the coronation. It was also great to have Her Majesty in attendance in the form of two pieces of art work created by every child in each class in our school.

We had an amazing fun packed day with activities that included an inter-house quiz all about the Queen and her family, a corgi hunt and a Jubilee street party as a whole school together on the playground. Check out our costumes as every adult and child in the school came dressed as someone from a decade of the Queen’s reign.
