Spring Term 2019
This term, Lion Class will be exploring the topic of The Romans and how they changed Britain. This exciting topic will give the children the chance to learn about why and when the Romans came to Britain and the impact they had while they were here. We also have two exciting trips to Lincoln City Centre where we will find evidence that tells us how important our city was to the Roman civilisation.
We will be making links with this topic in our English lessons, firstly by writing some Roman themed poetry. In maths, we will be developing our measurement skills for area and perimeter as well as developing our formal written methods for multiplication and division as well as some fractions work too. Our science topic this term is Properties and Changes of Materials. This topic will allow us to investigate the properties of everyday materials and how they can chance and will also give us the opportunity to take part in some exciting experiments.

We have all of this and much more to learn about this term. If you wish to support your child’s learning at home then we would ask that you read with your child as much as possible and ask them questions about what they have read as well as giving them opportunities to practise their times tables facts up to 12 x 12. If you would like any information on ideas and quick ways to do this at home then please don’t hesitate to ask.
