School Closure

Academy Closure There may be an occasion when the weather is so severe, e.g. very heavy snowfall, that for the health and safety of pupils and staff, the Academy will be closed. This is likely to be a very rare event. When exceptionally severe weather conditions are forecast for the whole authority and the Police are recommending that only essential journeys should be made, the Head and the Chair of Governors may make the decision to close the school. 

Very Heavy Snowfall In the event of very heavy snowfall an announcement will be made about closure of the Academy. Parents will be asked to:

• Listen to the local radio stations
• Follow us on Facebook and Twitter
• Check Parent Mail

for updates and  information regarding the closure and any further closure days.
